As of Sunday night, Kurt and I are officially members at West Side Baptist Church in Enid,Oklahoma. We weren’t sure at the beginning of the service if there would be enough members present to vote, but there was and we were voted in unanimously. Though we miss the fellowship and unity at Morning Star, we are looking forward to helping in the ministry here. At least now we can vote and be a part of the shifting tide.

Happy Mother’s Day
Most of all the other beautiful things in life come in twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds. Plenty or roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers and sisters, aunts and cousins, comrades and friends – but only one mother in the whole world.

For Mother’s Day today, the men of the church prepared a wonderful lunch for all the women. We had fried chicken, baked potatoes, green beans, salad, fruit salad, dinner rolls, and strawberry shortcake for dessert. It was all so delicious! I think we get to eat the leftovers tonight after church.
New Jobs
Yesterday Kurt and I both started new jobs. Kurt is working for a company doing scheduling and inventory, with the plans of moving him up once the company starts making more money (the company is only 2 years old). The company does something with voice over IP’s and other telephone stuff. I am working private duty for 2 different elderly people. Basically, I cook breakfast, do the dishes, and take them to any appointments. I’m with one person 5 days a week from 8:30-10:30, and with the other person two days a week from 11:00-3:00. I’m only two days into it but I think I’ll like it. Oh, Kurt and I got new phones so if you want our new numbers ask Barb.
Gardener in the making
Guess what everyone? I have decided that I’m a gardener. I signed up at church to be a part of the landscaping team so yesterday dad, Kurt, and I went around to different nurseries looking for landscaping ideas. As incentive, my dad bought me the greatest pair of gardening gloves ever made. They are so cool! They’re a soft, blue fabric with reinforced fingers, rubber grip bumps, and a fleece lining. While we were out, we found a nursery that was selling vegetables to plant. Since I had new gloves, I had to have something to do, so dad bought hot peppers, green and yellow peppers, watermelon, and tomatoes. I had so much fun planting it all! And, my gloves gave me special powers to handle worms, grubs, and beetley things. I did find out that putting a garden in is a lot of work. Luckily for me, my dad did all the digging and I just had to remove it all. Now I just have to learn how to can. Any suggestions?
